Abstract

The article presents the results of research and compares the features of the phenological phases of growth and development of the introduced tulip genotypes (TULIPA L.) of the early-flowering group, the first class – Simple early (varieties Sunny Prince, Flair, Apricot Beauty) and the second class – Terry early (varieties Pink Cameo, Monte Carlo, Margarita), as well as late-blooming, fifth class – Simple late (varieties Avignon, World Expression, Blushing Girl, Dream Club) and eleventh class – Terry late (varieties Uncle Tom, Crème Upstar, Exquisite, Miranda) in a total number of 14 varieties. Research was conducted during 2021–2023 years at the research site of the department of horticulture and park management of the Uman National University in the conditions of the Right Bank Forest Steppe of Ukraine. The conducted studies made it possible to generalize indicators related to the phenological phases of growth and development: seedlings – 10 % of plants, full seedlings – 75 % of plants, the beginning of flowering – 10 % of plants, full flowering – 75 % of plants), the end of flowering – 10 % of plants that have faded, the complete loss of decorativeness of introduced plants, the end of vegetation in the section of individual varieties of tulips and on average over the years of research. Observations have confirmed that the climatic conditions of the Right Bank forest-steppe of Ukraine affect the studied varieties of genotypes, while shortening or lengthening the flowering and growing seasons, which is associated with different degrees of resistance of the varieties to negative climatic factors and individual characteristics of their growth and development. Brief agrobiological and decorative characteristics of 14 collection samples in the conditions of the Right Bank Forest Steppe of Ukraine are given, which will be included in the further research on the cultivation and propagation of promising varieties. Field observations on the resistance of varieties to adverse natural conditions were conducted, the results were summarized. Among the 14 researched varieties, the most promising varieties of tulips, which are expedient to use in landscaping, were determined according to the phenological phases of growth and development.
