The journal was founded by the Sumy National Agrarian University in 1996 as one of the series of “Bulletin of Sumy National Agrarian University”. In 2018 “Bulletin of Sumy National Agrarian University. Series: Agronomy and Biology” was re-registered as a separate journal.
Based on the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 1188 dated 24.09.2020 (Annex 5) a scientific journal "Bulletin of Sumy National Agrarian University. Series: Agronomy and Biology» Series is included in the list of scientific professional publications of Ukraine (category "B") in the field of biological sciences (091 "Biology"), natural sciences (101 «Ecology») and agricultural sciences (201 «Agronomy», 202 «Plant Protection and Quarantine», 205 «Forestry» and 206 «Garden Design»).

“Bulletin of Sumy National Agrarian University. The series: Agronomy and Biology” publishes peer-reviewed articles as well as articles resulting from original research on all aspects of agronomy, ecology and biology from the molecular level of the organization to the biosphere. The journal covers a wide range of agronomic and biological issues.
The journal publishes articles on crop production, agriculture, soil science, agrochemistry, biotechnology in agriculture, plant protection and quarantine, phytopathology, entomology, herb studies, breeding and seed production, agricultural melioration, forestry, plant ecology and biology, phytopopulation biodiversity research, conservation and conservation, balanced and sustainable use of nature, agroecological studies, monitoring of natural and anthropogenically transformed ecosystems, use of GIS technologies as a promising method of monitoring quality and environmental protection. Scientists have the opportunity to publish high-quality and significant results of their research to ensure a wide exchange of scientific ideas and developments within the international scientific community.

Series Agronomy & Biology” publishes articles in the following main areas: plant growing, breeding and seed production, agriculture, soil science, agrochemistry, plant protection and quarantine, phytopathology, entomology, herb studies , biotechnology in agriculture, forestry and plant biology, population ecology of plants (within forest, meadow, steppe, water and other natural and anthropogenically altered plant groups), ecology of biological systems, environmental monitoring.
